Softimage xsi mod tool blender for free#Mike|||Would you be willing to share your methods for XSI -> 3ds? I found some links for free (legitimate) downloads of XSI, and I'd like to give it a try. I'm open to using any software that is freely available as I don't (yet) have any particular preferences.|||XSI doesn't have an exporter for Supcom, I tried to see if anyone would be capable of doing one years ago, but no one was interested, so I developed my pipline to unit creation to utilized 3DSMax to export while I do the rest of the work in XSI. I recently downloaded Blender and started playing with it, but not to the extent where I have a preference to use it compared to other similar software. Are there any older free versions of "XSI" that would work with SupCom? Mike|||It seems that XSI was acquired by Autodesk and so the software is now known as Autodesk Softimage, and quite expensive. Its pretty much how we've done everything for BlackOps. It really just comes down to which program you prefer using. My question is this: from your experiences, are the current scripts available for Blender sufficient enough to export to SupCom directly, or should I go via Blender -> 3ds -> SupCom? My main concern is exporting to SupCom, as I don't intend to import and alter existing content.Īnd, please do not suggest to just torrent 3ds.|||AFAIK, both tools work fine. Essentially, they would be willing to do me quick favours in exporting my models from 3ds to SupCom (via the available "scmtool1.1b" ) if I provide them with 3ds files, which I can by exporting from Blender. Now, I have access through associates to the 3ds Max software, but not for personal prolonged usage. scm files and possible exporting issues with these scripts. Specifically, I've come across the "SupCom-Blender-Scripts-V35" () on the forums, but it looks like the scripts are incomplete and I haven't been able to find any recently-updated versions, especially given that these scripts are for Blender v2.42 and the current Blender version is v2.56. I would like some advice in terms of getting my units to display properly in the game. Due to the costs involved with 3ds Max, I'm thinking of using Blender to create new units for my mod.
